FAQ

Product Images

  • My prints don't photograph well due to nature of the coatings on the paper I use, so digital preview images (soft proofs) are typically shown in the product listings. Each paper type has unique characteristics, which impact the actual look of the image on paper. As a result, don't expect the physical paper prints to look exactly like the digital preview images (that would be impossible).

  • Further tweaking of the preorder image edit is often done during the production process at my discretion. The final image edit may be slightly different from the digital preview shown in the product listing. Please be aware that a single image may have different final edits for different print sizes or different paper stocks.

  • The paper size dimensions mentioned in product listings are *inclusive* of the white border area.

Production Time

  • All prints are made on demand *after* an order is placed. Production time before shipping is typically about 2-3 weeks for orders of previously released limited edition prints. Production time for ALL orders placed around print drops is about 4 weeks before shipping due to the high volume of orders received at once.

  • If you have a rush order request, please contact me to discuss potential availability and any associated upcharges.

Refunds

  • All paper and metal prints are made on demand after an order is placed and refunds are not available once production has begun. If you need to cancel or change an order, it MUST be done within 48 hours of the time your order was placed.

Paper+ Ink Characteristics

  • Polar Metallic paper has an off-white pearly iridescent (i.e., pearlescent) and metallic shimmer with a luster texture. Images that require dense ink coverage may not lay perfectly flat when printed on this paper stock - this is normal and not a defect/damage. It's best to keep these prints stored flat in a sleeve or portfolio. Custom size prints on this paper stock will typically have 1-2 rougher edges since the paper's coating generally doesn't allow for a perfectly smooth cut; these rougher edges are not print defects/damage.

  • Slickrock Silver paper has a natural tendency to curl. I strongly recommend keeping these prints in a sleeve or portfolio AND in a cool dry place if not being framed immediately. While Slickrock Silver paper has an anti-fingerprint coating, please avoid touching the unprinted silver border portions with your fingers, if possible. Also, please don't pick at the paper if you see a mark! It will disappear on its own over time. Finally, please note that due to its silver base coating, Slickrock prints are best displayed in brightly lit environments where the silver border and silver highlights can pick up the light source.

  • My printing process occasionally leaves residual roller ink marks on the back of the paper - this is normal and not a print defect/damage. However, if you notice any ink marks on the *front* border area of a print upon inspection *immediately after delivery*, definitely let me know and I'll certainly issue a replacement.

Shipping

  • With apologies, due to recent rate and shipping material cost increases the Priority shipping charge is now $15.

  • Please note that due to Covid-19, delivery times may be longer than USPS estimates.

  • You will receive an automated message to your PayPal email address with tracking information as soon as your label has been created. Orders typically ship about 48 hours after the label is generated. It may take up to 24 hours after a package has been dropped off at the post office for tracking information to update in the USPS system.

  • Due to changes in the USPS tracking system, your order may not receive ANY additional in-transit updates after its initial package scan at my post office (something like USPS in possession or USPS awaiting item - both mean the package has been dropped off) until it reaches the final destination hub near your location, right before the package goes out for local delivery.

Packaging

  • All orders ship in an acid-free archival sleeve, mounted to a rigid cardboard backing that is then either top side bubble wrapped or cardboard sandwiched. Prints ship within a flat rigid mailer.

  • If the adhesive strip on the archival sleeve has been sealed, please do not try to slide prints out of the sleeve. To avoid damaging the prints, either cut off the adhesive portion of the sleeve or gently tear the sleeve along the long edge seam and then remove the prints.

  • If the sleeve is sealed with scotch tape, please remove the tape used the seal the sleeve before taking the print out of the sleeve to avoid the tape sticking to the paper, which may damage the prints.

Damaged Prints

  • I firmly believe that no one should ever be stuck with art damaged in transit! I have a 100% "undamaged arrival or automatic replacement" guarantee on every limited/timed edition print I sell. The prints should arrive in your hand exactly as they left mine, and if they don't, I insist on replacing them for you.

  • While my flat packaging method has been quite effective at keeping prints safe, every now and then a box does get mangled in transit. If your package and prints arrive damaged, please let me know *immediately* after delivery. All of my prints ship insured and I'd be happy to file a claim and reprint them for you (with the same numbers reissued).

  • USPS requires damage claims to be filed within 60 days of *mailing date* meaning you must notify me of any damage within that timeframe. If you fail to notify me of the damaged package and prints within the USPS claims window, you waive your right to free replacement.

  • DAMAGE REPLACEMENT PROCESS:

Please first take pictures of the box damage AND the print damage *outside of the archival sleeve* - sometimes the sleeves cause weird light reflections that look like damage but the prints are actually fine inside - then contact me.

Please DO NOT throw out the shipping box or packaging, as USPS often requires inspection as part of their claims process.

Damaged prints must be returned or verifably destroyed before any replacements are issued to ensure no duplicate numbers exist out in the wild - NO exceptions.

Sold Out Prints

  • Up to about a dozen prints from each limited edition release are reserved for sale at future PhanArt shows. Timed edition releases include a larger artist reserve quantity.

  • If a print is sold out online, please feel free to contact me to check whether there are still any remaining in my PhanArt show reserve.

Custom Orders

  • I'm always happy to discuss custom sizes or material requests. Metal prints are not (yet) made in-house and typically have extended lab production times and much higher costs. Metal prints are first shipped to me for quality control inspection and signing before shipping back out for final delivery to you.

  • If there's an image I've shared that hasn't been released as a print, please feel free to contact me about doing a oneoff custom order. I'm happy to test print (almost) anything.

  • With apologies, my digital hi-res files are NEVER available for custom projects that you order on your own (e.g., puzzles, clothing).

International Orders

  • International ordering is not currently available through this site, but I am always happy to ship anywhere! To place an international order, please contact me to determine actual shipping costs to your location.

Flipping

  • Go for it! No time restrictions. Hope you make a fortune.

Charitable Donations

  • A portion of the annual net proceeds from my print sales is donated to band-related charities. Thanks for your support!
